Dear Valued Member,
Welcome to the January 2026 edition of Pulamed Pulse. As we usher in a new year, we take a moment to reflect on a fulfilling 2025 marked by meaningful engagements, strong partnerships, and impactful initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in Botswana.
The closing quarter of 2025 saw Pulamed actively participate in key national and community platforms. Through the Health Funders Association Botswana (HFA), represented under the Business Botswana umbrella, we contributed to a consultative engagement with the Ministry of Health on the proposed National Health Insurance (NHI) policy framework—an important step toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Beyond policy advocacy, we remained grounded in community impact. From celebrating excellence at the Naledi Senior Secondary School Prize Giving Ceremony, promoting wellness through the MMG Khoemacau Lake Ngami Cycling Classic, and raising awareness with Journey of Hope Botswana during Breast Cancer Awareness engagements, to recognising our Pulamed gents during International Men’s Day, and International Customer Service Week—each moment reaffirmed our commitment to healthier lives.
We also concluded the year with our Annual Stakeholder Engagement Session and the 2025 Pulamed Annual General Meeting (AGM), where accountability, and forward-looking strategies took centre stage.
As we begin 2026, we remain focused on delivering value, improving access to quality healthcare, and partnering with you on your wellness journey.

For International Customer Service Week, we had an engagement session with our Administrator, Associated Fund Administrators (AFA), reinforcing our shared commitment to service excellence.

The Health Funders Association of Botswana which represents the largest medical aid schemes in Botswana through Business Botswana, presented a proposal policy framework for strengthening Botswana’s Health System to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The report was presented through a consultative engagement on the National Health Insurance (NHI) to the Ministry of Health.

Pulamed proudly sponsored the Naledi Senior Secondary School Prize Giving Ceremony under the theme “Celebrating Excellence in Academic Pursuits.” Our Principal Officer delivered a keynote address recognising academic excellence and the importance of community partnerships in shaping Botswana’s future.

Pulamed was proud to sponsor the MMG Khoemacau Lake Ngami Cycling Classic in Toteng Village. The event promoted wellness, unity, and community impact, proving that every pedal forward is a step toward a healthier nation.
A splash of pink filled our morning as Journey of Hope Botswana led Pulamed and AFA teams through an educational Breast Cancer Awareness Talk, including a self-breast examination session.

At Pulamed, we believe early detection saves lives. Members are encouraged to utilise breast cancer screening benefits available across all health options.
